When Did Halloween Change?

This is a circular from today's Sunday paper—an ad for Halloween costumes that a local chain store placed in the St. Paul Pioneer Press. I must have dozed off when this holiday, primarily a chance for kids to go door to door begging for candy, turned into the once-a-year opportunity for adults (women, in particular) to dress up like fantasy hookers. It gives a whole new meaning to "Trick or Treat."

What's the difference? Uh, oh yeah, the "playa" (or "player" for square folks) smoking the pipe in the velvet bathrobe who's thinking, "Score! This Halloween party is off the hook! When do we start bobbing for apples?!"
